Izzy

We had to say goodbye to our Izzy just days before Christmas. One of the hardest days. Ever.

She was named Ms. Frizzle at the humane society. We found her online and drove right over to get her. We named her Izzy “Tombstone”.

She was never a good walker. Always interested in every dog and squirrel she saw.

The first few times we took her on a road trip she puked in the car…and then went ahead and ate it. Gross. But at least I didn’t have to clean it up.

She would whine for our neighbors dog to the east. And every time we opened the gate for them to play she would immediately poop in their yard.

Our neighbors to the west had dogs as well but for whatever reason they didn’t interact much at all.

If she saw a squirrel on the power lines she would bark endlessly while the squirrel simply sat there and barked back at her. This would go on until I called her in, otherwise it would never stop. She would do the same with something in one of our neighbors yard (I think their dilapidated garage housed a number of rodents).

She was a counter surfer. And would grab your food whenever you left it unattended.

She loved the lake house. She knew when we were getting close and would start whining. She would run circles around the property constantly seeking out chipmunks or the ground hog which made its home under the deck.

She took a boat ride once but didn’t really care for it.

She loved being warm. She would seek out that single spot of sunlight and lay in it or curl up under a blanket.

She was a barker. But she also howled. One time I noticed her howling at a passing siren. Whenever we played a siren video on YouTube she would howl along it too.

She wasn’t fond of the delivery people but loved seeing the grandparents.

Her and other dogs were always a gamble. Some she loved, some she didn’t.

She would run with me and occasionally I would put on my rollerblades and she would pull me round the neighborhood (that was scary).

She followed me everywhere. She was always by my side.

We really lucked out with this one.

She was a good dog and is definitely missed ๐Ÿ™
